Ayahuasqueros, Curanderos, Vegetalistas, Sumis, Bancos...

Here at the Ayahuasca Foundation, we realize that there are a growing number of potential curanderos and curanderas seeking to study with a maestro from the Amazon Rainforest. However, from our own personal experience, finding the right teacher was not an easy task, and understandably, many students lack the faith to simply come to the Amazon and begin the search, with no secure plans.

The Science of Curanderismo
This area of the website will be an ever increasing collection of spiritual wisdom compiled from interviews with the curanderos, and from the powerful healers themselves entering stories and comments. As more curanderos and curanderas see the benefit of a presence on the foundation website, more information will be preserved and spread back into world. Video and Audio recordings will be kept in the Ayahuasca Sights and Sounds Library.

This library will have an online presence but will also be an actual library, audio/video studio, and sound laboratory located in Iquitos, Peru. Recordings of the curanderos songs and video footage of various healing techniques will be taken in the studio, where experiments based on sound frequency theories using the recordings will also take place. Recordings will be made available for purchase to support the individual curanderos who appear on the recordings.

Ayahuasca Curandero Directory
In order to help students seeking teachers as well as teachers seeking students, we have begun the Ayahuasca Curandero Directory. The directory will be a listing of Amazon healers who will each have their own profile page. The curanderos will recieve a user name and password and will then have private access to update information, change or upload photos, and eventually to upload video or audio for download or purchase by viewers. Maestros will be able to promote retreats, courses, schedules, or items for sale, and ayahuasca seekers can more easily get to know a large number of curanderos before making the big decision to come to the Amazon Rainforest of Peru and meet, live, and study with some of the few remaining spirit healers of the ancient traditions left in the world.

Students & Guides
The directory will also include students and guides who are willing to assist people in their journeys to find teachers, study the science, and eventually become healers and bring the wisdom of healing back from the Amazon to their own communities. It is a wonderful way for students to get to know one another, and facilitates those who might be coming down with extra needs or desires that a guide could help provide.

Ayahuasca Healing Forum
There will be a forum as well, for people to discuss their ideas, voice their concerns, and get feedback from others. It's also a place where students and teachers can keep in touch after a retreat or course, or get to know each other before making the leap. There would be a live chat area as well as a standard forum, with live discussions involving Amazon curanderos being held on a regular basis. The forum will also be a resource for research data and statistics, as well as a venue for promoting future events.
