An Ever-Expanding Listing of Medicinal Plants

This directory will utilize MySpace to provide profile pages for the most important medicinal plants utilized by curanderos of the Amazon Rainforest. It will present the plants with a focus on the spiritual aspects of the plant. Sacred songs called icaros that are used to contact the specific plant spirits will be included, along with pictures, descriptions of its physical characteristics, medicinal preparation and method of use, as well as testimonials about its effects and 'personality,' when encountered in the spiritual dimension.

Each plant will recieve its own webpage to display its information. The majority of work creating the MySpace pages will be done by volunteers who wish to contribute to the foundation from their homes, and learn about the plants at the same time. Volunteers will recieve a list of plants with information collected from various sources, photos, and relevant material like recordings of icaros, or interviews where the plant is discussed. They will then create a myspace page with the information for each specific plant spirit, using an email address provided by the Foundation. They will be encouraged to look for more ways to enhance the information and update the profile page.

There will be a link to the Foundation Website on each profile page to direct people back to the directory, and the foundation banner will remain at the top of the page, making it easy to navigate between the two sites. Many more websites will be linked to the Foundation Website to provide access to as much information as possible regarding the plants of Amazon and plant spirit medicine.
