Investigations into the Mysteries of Curanderismo

The Ayahuasca Foundation is currently involved in several investigations into the nature of curanderismo. The main focus of this research involves the healing songs, called icaros. In the investigations, recordings are made of curanderos singing their icaros and these recordings are then analyzed in order to find commonalities like key signature, rhythm, and basic vibrational frequency pattern. Intriguing discoveries have already been made, but more analysis is required.

As our budget is limited we are not yet capable of funding large scale projects but in the future we hope to contribute to phyto-chemical tests of important medicinal plants, electro-magnetic analysis of plants, healers, patients, and medicines, and other interesting projects. Until we can take part in more research, the website will list many previous and current investigations into ayahuasca and plant spirit medicine.

The findings of many research projects do not recieve attention from many people because of a lack of channels through which to research them about discoveries in this growing global subculture. The Ayahuasca Foundation strives to provide more of the communication channels so that the work of dedicated scientists, cruanderos, anthropologists, doctors, authors, and students of curanderos can reach more and more people.
