Tales of a Shaman's Apprentice
Carlos Tanner has been studying with the Peruvian mestizo ayahuasquero don Juan since 2004. Carlos lives in Iquitos, Peru with don Juan who he assists during healing retreats and educational courses. He will discuss his experiences with ayahuasca and the path he has taken to learn the science of plant spirit medcine here in the Amazon Rainforest. |

The Amazon Curandero Seminar preview
This Event will take place from April 19th - 27th in Iquitos, Peru. It is an amazing opportunity to learn about various aspects of traditional medicine from authentic healers of the Peruvian Amazon. Carlos Tanner will discuss the format and content of the seminar, including the six workshops led by curanderos, the three ayahuasca ceremonies, indigenous tribe demonstrations, presentations, meals, accomodations, transportation, etc. |

Seminar Workshop: Icaros, Healing Songs
Don Juan will be leading this workshop at the Curandero Seminar in April. For this teleseminar, don Juan will talk about the events in his life that allowed him to recieve the sacred songs from the spiritual dimension, the purpose and effect of these sacred songs, and his personal philosophy on why and how icaros heal. He will demonstrate the power of his icaros and then explain more specific details and interesting anecdotes. |

Seminar Workshop: Tools & Power Animals
Dona Cotrina and Dona Othelia will speak about the use of particular tools like the chakapa, as well as spiritual tools, power animals, and their own particular style of curanderismo. They will comment on what life is like for a female healer in the Amazon, and their views on gender in shamanism. Each curandera will be interviewed separately for 45 minutes, with 15 minutes of questions and answers afterward. |

Seminar Workshop: Tobacco & Soplaying
This workshop will be led by don Guillermo, an indigenous healer from the Shipibo tribe. Don Guillermo will be online to describe the various uses for the sacred medicine Tobacco, and the art of whistling, singing, or breathing healing power into a cigarette, called soplaying, in order to prepare it to be used as a spiritual remedy or treatment. Don Guillermo will also describe the chewing and drinking of tobacco preparations. |

Seminar Workshop: Sacred Healing Plants
Don Lucho and don Percy will describe medicinal plants such as Chiric Sanango, Chuchuhuasi, Oje, Una de Gato, Sangre de Grado, Noni, and many more, as well as their preparation and use. Don Lucho will also describe the spirits of the plants, and how from them he learned how to heal. Don Percy will talk in depth about the preparation of the sacred brew, ayahuasca, and the various admixture plants and their effects. |
