The liquid is cooked down even more. After another 2 hours of boiling the vine and leaves, the remaining brown liquid is added to the liquid from the first session. This is then cooked down without any plant material. A total of approximately 5 gallons of water is cooked down to less than 2 liters of ayahuasca.
