| THE CAMPUS |
 |
Students will live at each of the three curanderos camps and attend four ceremonies with the first two curanderos and three with the last. There, students will recieve plant treatments, do strict diets, and learn about the science of plant spirit medicine. In between trips to the these jungle camps, the students will stay in a hotel in town, close to the internet, telephones, and laundrimats.
Each of the camps has its own charm. The locations of the camps vary, but all of them require hiking to get there. The hikes are amazing, and the locations of the camps are simply stunning. It is our hope that you will find a teacher during this course, so it helps to get to know where you'd be living if you choose to study. |

The camps all have medicinal gardens and the plant remedies, ayahuasca ingredients, and some of the food that will be served during the course will come directly from the surrounding jungle. Peaceful and tranquil, the camps all offer the chance to get completely away from society and to reconnect with nature, with the earth, and with yourself. There is no electricity in any of the camps, and no running water. There are toilets that flush with a bucket of water, there are streams for bathing. The living quarters at all the camps are screened in, as are the dining areas. Students will be dieting the entire time during their stays at each of the camps. In town, the diet will be respected as best as possible.

The program was originally designed to be held at one particular camp, but we have now expanded the course so that students can have a better opporunity to find the right fit for a teacher. We hope to increase the amount of apprentices who will bring the science of the spirit back to the cultures who are so desperately in need of it. Moving to different locations gives students the chance to see the variety of environments in addition to the variety of styles and philosophical perspectives within curanderismo.
Having a night or two in a hotel is a nice way to return to comfort, stay in touch with concerned friends and family, restock supplies, and take a step back to see what you've learned from your last experience. The hotel is quiet, comfortable and close to the center of town. It's a great place to reorganize and to reflect on what just happened, and prepare for what's to come.
