PAMPA OREGANO
Lippia alba

A weedy plant with a strong aroma when leaves are crushed, pampa oregano is sometimes known as Lippia. While it can be used in cooking the way italian oregano is, the peruvians rarely use it for culinary purposes.

A tea made from the leaves is used to treat nausea, especially with pregnant women, who also drink the tea to ease the pain of childbirth. It is used to treat headaches and stomachaches as well, and can also be prepared as a bath to be used as a calmant and sedative.
