Retreats begin in Iquitos, the world's largest jungle city, inaccessible by roads due to its location deep within the Amazon Rainforest. Carlos will meet you at the airport or at the curandero's house and serve as your guide while in the rainforest. Together, you will travel deeper into the forest to visit the curandero at his camp in the jungle. You will have the opportunity to be treated by the curandero who may advise you to begin a medicinal diet, in addition to the one everyone must follow following a ceremony. You will attend at least two Ayahuasca ceremonies either in the jungle or in the village of San Juan, where the curandero resides most of the time. You may purchase any recommended herbs or preparations to take with you before returning to Lima and eventually, home. It is, however, prohibited to bring plants back... Retreats include some if not all of the following: Visits to a butterfly sanctuary, to the market in Belen, tours of the floating village of Belen, trips to local museums and galleries, tours to local preserves, parks, and zoos, medicinal herb lessons, natural jungle purges, forest meditation, tribal drum healing, sacred dance ceremonies, visionary art workshops, chanting circles, tarot readings, basic yoga sessions, Amazon River tours, and dolphin encounters. All retreats are informal and are guided by the flow of the Amazon and the forest. If you have a specific desire, we will cater your time to your purpose. Just ask and we'll do what we can.
